Nutritional TherapistQualifications: Diploma FTST BA (Hons) BSc (Hons) mBANT
Steph remembers thinking as a wee 14 year old that she also wanted to work in nutrition ‘when she grew up'. But the thought of doing Biology and Chemistry A-level put her off!
Instead, she trained as a fitness instructor before moving into direct marketing and then into contract publishing.
Ten years later she realised nutrition was still her passion - so she saved up and trained as a Nutritional Therapist, completing a full time degree, and has never looked back. Steph is mum to two girls under five.
Describe your perfect day? Lazing outside on a hot and sunny English summer day with family and friends and lots of lovely food.
What inspires you? Aside from my grandparents, anyone showing strength in the face of adversity.
What is your favourite type of holiday and where? Just give me sun, sea, sand and my family, and I'm relaxed.
What is your favourite food? Avocado and fresh grilled sardines...mmm yum!
What is your favourite type of exercise? Running.
What is your favourite Music? Anything with a funky beat...which I do my embarrassing ‘Mummy dance' to.
What's been your biggest achievement so far? Not only having my two girls but also managing to finish a degree at the same time as well as keeping a job for some of it too - I was naive, it was stressful, but I got there in the end.
How do you make time for you? Isn't this the Million Dollar Mummy question?! The only guaranteed me-time I have each week is in the gym or out running - an added incentive for going!
What are your pet hates? Laziness and tangled hangers.
How do you motivate yourself? By going for a run - I always come back in a much more positive frame of mind than when I left, even if I am sweaty and gasping for breath... |
